Arsenal also make two changes as Nacho Moneral and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlian are replaced by Kieran Gibbs and Thomas Rosicky.

Arsenal XI: Szczesny, Sagna, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Gibbs, Arteta, Wilshere, Rosicky, Ozil, Cazorla, Giroud

Subs: Fabianski, Jenkinson, Monreal, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Podolski, Sanogo, Bendtner

One minute into the game when Wojech Szczesny had passed out to Mikel Arteta just outside the area. Arteta had been closed down by Robin Van Persie as the striker had won the ball and was one on one but the pressure had got to him as the shot from the left hand side had been easily saved by Szczesny from the right hand side.

2 minutes later when Arsenal had won a corner on the right hand side which Santi Cazorla would take. The cross had found Oliver Giroud unmarked after getting away from Nemanja Vidic but his header had for just wide of the right hand side.

18 minutes had past when Juan Mata had slipped the ball through to Van Persie on the right hand side as he had beaten the offside trap. The former Arsenal man had got the ball onto his left foot and shot at from a right angle, but he's shot had gone well wide of the right hand post.

At half time as both teams go into the break stale mate with no team yet to break the deadlock in this tight affair.

Manchester United have played well when pressing the ball and should have scored when Van Persie went through on goal one on one but so far they have played well.

Arsenal have also played well but have lacked a killer blow in the final third but should have scored when Giroud was given a free header.

60 minutes into the match when a corner from the right hand side from Santi Cazorla. The Spaniard had found defender Lorient Koscienlny as he had headed for the left hand post. The header had been heading in but Valencia had been on the line to head the ball away, the closest we have come to a goal so far.

15 minutes left when Bacary Sagna had the ball on the right hand side. Substitute Adnan Januzaj had been with him as the French wing back had crossed into the middle where Giroud had been to try and flick the ball into the net but he had narrowly missed the ball leaving the Arsenal fans in despair.

3 minutes later when Carrick had given the ball to Rooney on the half way line. Rooney had given it to Van Persie who had been two on two as he had given the ball back to Wayne Rooney on the edge of the box. The striker Rooney had clipped a perfect ball to the back post were Van Persie had been to get ahead Per Mertesacker and head on target. The header had forced Szczesny to push the ball onto the cross bar keeping United at bay.

At full time and Manchester United get a point away at Arsenal after a very tactical game.

Manchester United played well and David Moyes got his tactics spot on tonight but could not get that winning goal. Tom Cleverley was also fantastic in breaking up play which most Man United fans would have hoped he would do.

Arsenal were poor going forward tonight and could not finish some of the good as Mesut Ozil was again quiet.

Next up for Manchester United is Crystal Palace on Saturday 22nd February as they are already out of the FA Cup.
