Former Manchester United defender Philip Neville has described last season appalling display as a disaster.

Manchester United who were under David Moyes at the time experienced a season in which humiliation descended upon Old Trafford. We finished 7th in the league our lowest finish since the 1989-90 season.

Neville said "It was an absolute disaster from start to finish we must all take responsibility, not just David Moyes. I take responsibility and so does everyone involved."

Phil was a great player in his day one who was relayed on many a times under former boss Sir Alex Ferguson with 386 caps to his name in a Manchester United shirt.

Neville added “I was involved last year and last year was an absolute disaster."

The season is one to forget for Neville who was in the coaching staff at the time but has now quit to join the formidable team of pundits at BBC Sport. In his new role as pundit he will give his views on games going on in England as well as full coverage on Match of the day.

In profession of last season it is one I especially hope to erase and forget as the new season dawns upon us with a steady more reliable and autocratic manager at the helm. This season will be interesting to see a Louis Van Gaal team flaunt it's colours and dazzle with it glimmering performances.
