The French team progressed in clinical style as they score two fairly late goals to beat the last African team in the World Cup.

The game was very open and could go either way in the first half. Fantastic saves from both keepers to keep their team in the match.

The first goal came in the second half when a cross from Mathieu Valbuena had found it's way to Paul Pogba at the back post. The Nigeria keeper was caught way out on his goal as Pogba headed simply into an empty net.

The second and final goal came in the 91st went Valbuena had played a one two with Karim Benzema from the corner and then crossed the ball into the middle. Antonine Griezmann had been there to nick the ball ahead of the defender and slide it into the left hand post.

The game was one that France should have won and one that they did win as they will now more than likely face Germany in the World Cup quarter finals.

Man of the match was Paul Pogba he is a fantastic individual who shone throughout the match as he's goal and passing accuracy was very impressive.
