Lallana late draw

The International break is over and now we turn to the Barclays Premier League.Man United are hosts to high flying fourth place Southampton.

 

Manchester United keep the attacking four of Adnan Januzaj,Robin Van Persie,Wayne Rooney and Luis Nani. The one change in midfield is Marouane Fellaini coming in to replacing Tom Cleverly. Johnny Evans also coming in to take Phil Jones position.

 

Southampton make one attacking change as Ricky Lambert drops to the bench and Jay Rodriguez starts. Luke Shaw also comes back in to start at left back.

 

10 minutes into the match when Michael Carrick had the ball in an attacking position. Carrick flicked the ball over the top into the right hand side. The ball had not dropped as Van Persie pushed a leg at the ball causing it to go just wide of the left hand post.

 

Halfway through the first half when Rooney had been pressured running back towards his own goal. Rooney had lost the ball to Adam Lallana as Southampton looked in a promising place. Lallana had given the ball into Daniel Osvaldo with the goal in his wait and no defenders in front of him. The newish Southampton signing had put himself under pressure as he's shot went straight at De Gea.

 

2 minutes later when Januzaj had the ball in the midfield. The youngster had put Rooney through on goal as Artur Boruc had came out to make himself big and did as he made the save. The ball from the save had rolled out to deadly Dutchman Robin Van Persie as the United fans hoped to see their team go ahead. Van Persie had an open goal at a tight angle as Van Persie took his time and finished the ball into the bottom right hand corner. That made the United fans go crazy as Van Persie celebrated his 7th goal of the season.

 

2 minutes later when Man United had come forward again. The ball had gone out wide onto Nani on the right. Van Persie had wanted the ball at the front post but the Portuguese goal scorer in midweek has played the ball into Rooney. The 27 year old had turned and found space inside the box as his shot had cannoned off the bar and back into play.

 

At half time and Manchester United go into the break one goal better off than there opponents. Van Persie finished off a very easy goal after a good save by Boruc.

 

Manchester United are starting to settle into a rhythm as Fellaini has made the most passes being successful with 29 of his 34 passes. 

 

Southampton had a great chance to take the lead just minutes before when Osvaldo let the pressure get to him. The Saints Morgan Schneiderlin has had a total of 5 tackles 4 of them being successful that's the best in the match so far.

 

62 minutes into the match when Rooney had the ball ready to take a corner kick. Rooney had whipped a ball into the box as Dutchman Robin Van Persie sprinted towards the front post and had got his head to the ball. The ball had hit the crossbar as all Man United fans see Van Persie fifth shot go inches away from a second goal.

 

1 minute later when Rafael had the ball on the left hand side in an attacking position. The Brazilian had passed he ball back to Carrick near the edge of the box. Carrick had played the ball first time to starlet Januzaj who had space to fire at shot at Boruc. The shot had been moving in the air as it swerved near the left hand corner but Boruc had dived to his left causing a fantastic save to keep Januzaj out.

 

85 minutes into the match when Southampton had threatened down the right hand side. The ball had been in the middle edge as Welbeck switched off leaving former Crystal Palace defender Nathanal Clyne in with a chance to score inside the box. Clyne had shot into the near post as De Gea had parried the ball away.

 

2 minutes left when Southampton's corner had been whipped in. The saints fans had urged their team on to get the equaliser. Lovern had leaped into the ball getting their just before the United defence. The ball had been on target as Lallana had been on the keeper as the ball hit the youngster and went into the back of the net. Unbelievable celebrations as Southampton celebrate the goal they deserve.

 

At full time and Manchester United walk away with a frustrating point at home to Southampton. Take nothing away from Southampton as they deserve a goal out of the game. Van Persie stroke early in the first half but it was canceled out by Adam Lallana accidentally goal as the ball just hit him and went in. Next up for Man United is Real Sociedad in the Champions League on Wednesday.
