Injury problems Young memory now
Coming into the game Man United have won only two of their last six games only beating Swansea in the league and Sunderland in the Capital One Cup. Since their new manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer arrived things have been mixed winning two of their last for with him in charge.
Manchester United make four changes to the side that lost to Chelsea as new signing Juan Mata makes his debut as well as Robin Van Persie who comes in for Danny Welbeck. The other two changes is Ryan Giggs and Chris Smalling who come into to replace Nemanja Vidic and Michael Carrick.

Cardiff City make five changes to the side that lost 4-2 at the Ethiad Stadium as Craig Bellamy replaces Gunnarsson. The bluebirds also make three changes at the back as only Steven Caulker keeps his place in the side.

5 minutes into the game when Mata had played a long ball across to Patrice Evra on the left hand side, the French international had played the ball to Van Persie and the right winger Ashley Young had got the ball back as United fans begin to rise in hope. The ball had found Antonio Valencia as he's header had hit the bar and come out to Van Persie as the Dutch man's shot had been saved by Alex Marshall. The shot had gone back out to Van Persie as he headed the ball into the back of the net. United fans celebrate as their anxiety is lifted with that early goal, that was Van Persie's 11th goal of the season.
18 minutes into the match as Frasier Campbell had given the ball Inside to Craig Noone as he had swiftly moved closer to the goal and lined up a shot. The shot had gone over the bar as David De Gea wasn't troubled.
33 minutes into the match when Young had taken the corner quickly to Mata, the Spaniard had given the ball back to Young. The winger had squared theball inside the box to Evra as he had slipped through Van Persie on the left hand side, with time Van Persie had drilled a shot in the opposite corner but his shot had gone just wide.
At half time as Man United go into the break one goal up through Robin Van Persie's header as the striker is showing no sign of rust. Manchester United have played well but have let Cardiff back into the game at some points. Cardiff City were shocked at how quickly United did start but they gradually got back into the game and will want to continue that in the second half.
58 minutes had past in the second half as Juan Mata had given thr ball out wide to Ashley Young on the left hand side. The United fans had been hoping for a second goal for security as Younghad slipped past two of the Cardiff City players and set himself up for a shot as the ball had rifled into the bottom right hand corner of the goal as the United fans erput In relief as they had a security goal. Juan Mata had made his first assist as Young scores his first goal since the 3-1 win over West Ham.
73 minutes had past as Cardiff had given the ball away the ball which had given Valencia the chance to break away. The right midfielder had got all th way into the bix and stopped still for a minute as he had been faced up on the right hand side. Valencia had shifted the ball onto his right foot and shot at goal as Marshall had to dive and tip the ball onto the right hand post.
Into injury time when substitute Adnan Januzaj had teed up other substitute Wayne Rooney 25 yards out from goal as the Englishman had sent his curling shot going just wide of the right hand post.
At full time as Man United get the win through goals from Robin Van Persie and a stunning effort from Ashley Young.
Manchester United played well in defence as it is a positive to see new boy Juan Mata and Wayne Rooney and Van Persie back from injury.
Cardiff City did well to stay in the game but did noy threaten the United back four enough.
Next up for United is a game against Stoke City away from home on Saturday at 3pm.
