Away in Spain as Real Sociedad are looking for their first point against English opponents ever. Man United have only won 8 of their last 35 matches against Spanish opponents.

10 minutes into the match when the ball had been given to Patrice Evra down the left hand side in an attacking position. The French full back had drilled a ball into the box straight to Wayne Rooney as he had looked to shoot but caught the defence by rolling a ball behind him and into Kagawa. The Japanese international had taken his time and then had hit a shot just wide of the right hand post taking a deflection.
9 minutes later as Kagawa had the ball just outside the box with the defenders ahead of him. Evra had taken one of the defenders away as the space had opened up for the number 26 but his shot had been directed straight at keeper Claudio Bravo.
1 minute until half time when De La Belle had the ball on the right hand side as he had brought the ball inside and skipped away from the challenge of Evra and had shaped up to shoot. The full backs shot had bobbled just wide of the right hand post as De Gea explains that he couldn't see.
At Half time and the score is stale mate as Man United and Real Sociedad have probed away at each other with very little chances in the first 45.
Man United have had the most of possession with 56% of the ball and a completion rate of 83%. Man United will need to break Sociedad sooner or later.
Sociedad have held a strong grip to their tactics making them hard to break down but have had very little chances if they lose tonight the European dream is over.
5 minutes after the restart as Valencia had clipped a ball from the right hand side to Kagawa just inside the box. As the midfielder looked for Hernandez and had found him as he curled a low pass into the 6 yard area gave the Mexican a one on one an almost open goal. The ball had bounced in front of Chicharito and been hit over the goal a good chance which Hernandez should have buried.
Halfway through the second half when Ashley Young and Robin Van Persie had entered for Rooney and Hernandez. In an attacking position when Kagawa had pushed a ball across to Young on the left hand side. The number 18 had put a ball across for Van Persie coming in at the back post but the Dutchman's flying shot had cannoned back off the post as Man United had got ever closer.
68 minutes into the match as Young had played a one two in the box. The ball had rolled back to Young as a tug had forced him to the ground the United fans hoping for a penalty as the referee pointed to the white spot. With Wayne Rooney off the pitch substitute Robin Van Persie would take. The Dutchman had stepped up but his shot had hit the same post that he hit earlier as another chance had gone begging. Man United fans throw their hands in their head as Van Persie misses the chance to grab his 9th goal of the season.
89 minutes had gone in the match as Marouane Fellaini dived into the Real Sociedad midfielder and had left the referee no option but to brandish a red card as United nigh hand got worse in the dying minutes.
At Full time and Man United get a draw. Chances from Hernandez and a penalty from Van Persie should have settled it but didn't as Sociedad keep their faint hopes alive of qualifying.
Man United had Marouane Fellaini sent off and Ashley Young will be the talk of the game because of his involvement in the penalty that was given. Man United were in control but lacked that execution in the final third.
Real Sociedad played well and held their own in the first half but lacked any real attacking threat but were good defensively.
Man United now go host table toppers Arsenal on Sunday at 4pm.
