Onto the second leg

Bayern Munich are unbeaten in their last 9 away league matches. Manchester United have only won 1 of the last 6 meeting between the two teams. 

Manchester United make two changes from the team that beat Olympiakos as Nemanja Vidic is shipped into the side for Rafael as Jones moves into right back. Also Robin Van Persie who is injured is taken out of the side leaving Danny Welbeck up front with Marouane Fellaini in midfield.

Bayern Munich make four changes to the team that drew with Arsenal in the second leg as Dante,Thiago,Mandzukic and Götze all are replaced by Rafinha,Kroos,Muller and Javi Martinez.

3 minutes into the match when Valencia had passed the ball into Welbeck as he had flicked the ball over his head and then touched the ball again. It had been set for him as he smashed the ball into the net as the referee had blown his whistle for a high foot against Danny Welbeck very unlucky but a good decision.

30 minutes had past in the match when Robben on the right hand side had come inside onto his favoured left and looked to shoot. The Dutch international had curled a shot into the left hand corner as David De Gea had leaped to parry it away for a corner.

10 minutes later as Giggs had given the ball to Rooney inside the United half with the crowd waiting for a real opening. Rooney had rolled the ball into Welbeck as he had got away from Martinez and was through one on one with 20 yards in front of him. Never had come out and parried the ball away as Welbeck had tried to chip him so far the best chance of the game.

At the half time whistle and it's a draw as Bayern are still yet to create the score as United still have had the best chance.

Manchester United have played well and deserve to be ahead if Welbeck would have scored but so far it's a good score line for United.

Bayern Munich have been good and been in control of the ball but have yet to really test De Gea only having one attempt on target.

18 minutes into the second half when Manchester United had won a corner on the left hand side which Rooney would take. The United fans anxious waiting for a goal as Rooney had crossed the ball into Vidic who had been unmarked in the box as he headed into the bottom right hand corner sending United fans crazy as Old Trafford sees it's team go 1-0 up in a game were the pressure is on! United have now scored in each of their last 15 Champions League meetings with German clubs. 

8 minutes later as a cross from the right hand side had been whipped into the box as it had found substitute Mario Mandzukic peeling away at the back post. The striker had dropped the ball back for the unmarked for Schweinsteiger who had time to place the ball into the top left hand corner to bring Bayern back level as the fans in the corner go crazy as they are used to seeing their team score. Bayern have now scored in every match for the last two years as that record is not stopped tonight.

At full time and it is a well earned draw against the European champions as we are still in with a shout away in the second leg.

Manchester United played well and were very compacted at the back and were good on the counter attack.

Bayern Munich had all of the ball but didn't create any clear cut chances as they switched off and let in a goal also seeing a player sent and already missing someone through amount of yellows picked up.
