The match was toughly contested but it was a Cristiano Ronaldo goal that decided to scoreline as Porutgal won 2-1.

The first goal came after just 30 minutes when a cross from the left hand side had been bundled into its own by John Boye. The Rennes defender had sliced his clearance and put the ball into the net as it come off the right hand side of the bar and went in. The goalkeeper was left no chance.

Ghana equalised into the second half when an outside of the boot cross on the left hand side had found Asamoah Gyan at the back post to head the ball past Beto and score into the net.

The game had been tightly contested and looked as if that it would end in draw but in the final minutes the Portuguese would add the winner.

As of 10 minutes left there was a special goal for Cristiano Ronaldo as he finally got his World Cup goal. The goalkeeper had parried the ball out to him on the edge of the box and he made no mistake. He had buried the ball into the right hand corner to score what might be his last ever World Cup goal.
