4 minutes into the match when Patrice Evra had played the ball into the box where Japanese star Shinji Kagawa had appeared but his shot was blocked by right back Russell Martin as goalkeeper John Ruddy pounced on the follow up.

16 minutes had past as Norwich attacked down the right hand side. Martin had been given the ball by Robert Snodgrass on the right hand side and the 27 year old right back took his time and fired a shot at Spaniard David De Gea. The goalkeeper had saved the shot keeping the scores at 0-0.

5 minutes later when Leroy Fer had played the baIl to Martin on the right hand side. The defender had shifted the ball to Snodgrass as the Scot had looked to drill a cross into the box and had done as Hooper had connected with the cross but his shot was saved by De Gea at point blank range.

At half time and the scores are still deadlocked with United looking very lacklustre in creating any real chances. Norwich have had more and better chances to try and get ahead in this match.

Manchester United are yet to really threaten John Ruddy in the Norwich goal and will need to step up in the second half.

Norwich have had a few good chances but are yet to break the bank in terms of scoring goals. Norwich looking by far the better team at the interval.

Four minutes after the restart when Wesley Hoolahan had passed the ball through to Nathan Redmond on the left hand side of the box. The young starlet had driven a cross-shot at goal as it had gone just wide of the far post.

56 minutes had past when Bennett had cleared the ball but it had hit the body of substitute Danny Welbeck and rolled out to striker Javier Hernandez who had played the ball through for Welbeck. The United fans had hope that the ball was going in as they jumped out of their seats. The Mexicans pass had found Welbeck again as he took the ball around goalkeeper Ruddy and placed his shot into the bottom left hand corner. The travelling fans celebrations echo around Carrow road as the home fans fall silent. That was Welbecks 6th league goal this season.

10 minutes later as Hernandez had taken a down a cross 20 yards out from goal and lined up a shot. The strikers shot had made Ruddy make a diving save to deny United a crucial second goal in this tight match.

At the full time and Manchestnited get their fourth consecutive win under David Moyes. The only goal from Danny Welbeck which had a slice of good luck as the ball fell to him but a fantastic performance from De Gea saved United today.

Manchester United didn't have a lot of chances to threaten the Norwich keeper but the one chance that fell to striker Danny Welbeck he took.

Norwich were unfortunate not to get anything from the game and should have taken their chances in the first half when United were sloppy and looked defensively weak by De Geas fantastic performance kept them out.

Next up for Manchester United is a home match against Tottenham Hotspur on new years day at 5:30pm.
